The world is currently facing a complex tangle of problems that escalate into negative phenomena such as wars, social injustice, environmental degradation, and a crisis of democracy.

There are many approaches within society that seek to respond to these challenges. These approaches, consciously or unconsciously, are based on certain assumptions, allowing us to identify paradigms behind them.

In the Western world, global capitalism, inclusivism, consumerism, multiculturalism, technocratism, and materialism have a strong influence. All of these currents provide important insights and practical lessons, but they are fundamentally incomplete.

Their opponents, who draw on ideologies such as nationalism, socialism, or populism, also present substantive and valid critiques but often fall into utopian ideas, one-sidedness, or conspiracy theories.

To achieve a functional and sustainable solution leading to social reconciliation, we need a perspective that connects the individual paradigms. This means objectively assessing the advantages and disadvantages of each, understanding their strengths and limits, and arriving at a holistic or integrative view.

Such a perspective can only be sought in an open, free, decent, and factual discussion, which is, however, becoming increasingly rare.

The Institute for Paradigmatic Reforms, in short IPPR, is a supra-ideological civic organization founded to analyze and evaluate the viability of various paradigms, as well as to promote open discussion among their representatives. IPPR also develops its own concepts in the area of paradigmatic reforms.

Our long-term goal is to create a consistent, integrated worldview which will form a scholarly and scientifically based alternative providing concrete options for direct practical application. We want to provide space for a most open polemic, but with an emphasis on politeness and expertise.

You are heartily invited to evaluate and support our work and activities.
